St Michael and All Angels' Church

We are very lucky at St. Michael’s to have St. Michael and All Angels' Church just down the road! Children regularly join Reverend Ruth for services and reflection.

St Michael & All Angels' Church is located within Bartley Green. It is here that the pupils of St Michael’s CE Primary School worship and celebrate events together as a school and Church.

Reverend Ruth

I am Vicar of St Michael and All Angels’ Church and visit school on a regular basis to help lead Collective Worship. The children often visit the Church for the beginning and end of term services and as part of their curriculum.

I was born in West Yorkshire and I was a teacher for many years in Worcester. I grew up in the Christian faith; I was ordained in 2009 when I became a curate at St Mary’s Church in Old Swinford, and then became Vicar at St Michael’s in October 2014.

I administer the Church food bank which you can access through the school. We have a range of activities for children in Church which you can find out about on the Church website.

I enjoy working with the children and helping them explore issues of faith.

History of the Church

The Church was consecrated in 1840, a small building in gothic style. It was enlarged in 1876 but did not become a parish church until 1956. After standing empty for a number of years, the church was demolished in 1968. The new church, its design based on a pyramid, was opened in 1964 on Romsley Road at the corner of Field Lane.

For further information please visit St Michael and All Angels' Church website which will give you more information about what the Church does and believes.
